Although I pretty much only make Tonkatsu Sauce to go with Tonkatsu Pork I suspect it would work well wherever you use Barbecue Sauce. Much like my regular Barbecue Sauce this starts with a ketchup base, to which a host of flavours are added.
Though unlike my other recipe this doesn’t need to be cooked and can be served pretty much straight away if you’re in a rush. I’d recommend chilling it for a few hours to let the flavours develop, but sometimes needs must, eh?
- 6 tbsp Tomato Ketchup
- 3 tbsp Pomegranate Molasses
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 tbsp Light Soy Sauce
- 1½ tsp Dijon Mustard
- ½ tsp Garlic Powder
- Mix all of the ingredients together in a small bowl, then cover and chill for a few hours to allow the flavours to develop. Remove from the fridge a bit before serving and allow it to come up to room temperature.
