There's a lot to love about the warm and zesty flavours of the Western Mediterranean, which are mixed here with a bit more of an Eastern method to create these succulent and healthy chicken kebabs.

for the Marinade

  • 150 g Greek-style Yoghurt
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 2 cloves Garlic, crushed
  • 1 tsp Smoked Paprika (Pimentón Dulce)
  • 1 tsp Dried Oregano
  • ½ tsp Ground Cumin
  • ½ tsp Sea Salt
  • ½ tsp Freshly Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 Lemon, zested and juiced

for the Kebabs

  • 400 g Skinless and Boneless Chicken - you can choose breast or thigh meat
  • 1 Green Pepper, deseeded and cut into chunks
  • 1 Red Onion, peeled and cut into chunks
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil


  1. To make the marinade, combine all of the ingredients in a large bowl or zip-loc bag and mix well.
  2. Cut the chicken into bite-sized chunks and add the marinade. Make sure that all of the chicken pieces are well coated with the mixture before marinading in the fridge for 8 hours, or preferrably overnight.
  3. When you're ready to cook, pre-heat your grill to a medium-high setting. Thread the chicken onto skewers (remembering to pre-soak them if you're using bamboo ones) alternating with the red onion and green pepper chunks.
  4. Cook under the grill for 15-20 minutes, turning regularly throughout cooking to ensure they're cooked through and not too burnt on any one side. The yoghurt in the marinade will catch in some places, but it's all flavour at the end of the day!
  5. Serve with a salad and side of your choice, with a few wedges of lemon to squeeze over the top.
